Russian ruble sets one-year highs on oil production cut deal
MOSCOW, Dec 12 (PRIME) -- The Russian ruble has hit a more than one-year high against the U.S. dollar and the euro propped by rising oil prices, according to the data of the Moscow Exchange seen by PRIME on Monday.
Since the start of the trading session, the ruble climbed 61.49 against the dollar – the highest figure since October 2015, while against the euro the ruble jumped to 64.95 rubles – the highest since July 2015.
The ruble with tomorrow settlement has eased to 61.55 against the dollar by 10.15 Moscow time and to 64.99 against the euro.
The Brent oil price rose 4.218% to U.S. $56.76 per barrel as of 10.17 a.m. Moscow time, according to the ICE exchange.
